Layflat hoses

Discharge side only

A layflat hose works under pressure only: under vacuum it collapses. For the suction side of a pump, use a hose with a steel helix, such as DELFLEX 10 SD. On the discharge side, a layflat hose is lighter than a hardwall hose and rolls flat when empty, so long lines are easy to transport and store.

Which layflat hose

• DELFLAT — rubber covered, multipurpose. Construction sites, industry, agriculture and mining: water, compressed air and light slurry. Hardwearing and very abrasion resistant. ID 20–305 mm, up to 25 bar, lengths up to 200 m, −20…+100 °C.
• DELFLAT PU — polyurethane. Construction sites, industry and agriculture: water, waste water, abrasive media and slurry. Abrasion resistance 4–5 times higher than NBR/PVC hoses. ID 25–356 mm, up to 20 bar, −50…+75 °C; single lengths over 200 m: up to 500 m for ID 52–90 mm and up to 400 m for ID 102–127 mm.
• DELFLAT HD — polyurethane, heavy duty. Demanding drainage and dewatering: water, waste water, abrasive media, liquid manure and slurry. Superior abrasion resistance, ultra-high tensile strength. ID 52–152 mm, up to 20 bar; single lengths as for DELFLAT PU.
• DELFLEX AGRO 16 LF — rubber covered, for agriculture. Slurry disposal, liquid manure, waste water and water. Ribbed, very thick cover for abrasion resistance; resistant to agricultural chemicals and fertilizers. ID 52–152 mm, up to 16 bar, lengths up to 200 m.
• DELFLEX AGRO 10 LF — rubber, for submersible pumps. Delivery hose for water, liquid fertiliser and non-corrosive inert fluids: submersible pumps, agricultural and industrial use. ID 40–609 mm, 10 bar up to ID 305 mm and 5 bar for larger sizes, coils of 12 to 61 m depending on size.
• DELFLEX 20 LF — rubber, 20 bar. Delivery hose for water, liquid fertiliser and non-corrosive inert fluids at up to 20 bar: submersible pumps, agricultural and industrial use. ID 60–203 mm, coils of 20 to 61 m depending on size.
• DELFLAT L — lightweight PVC. Water in agriculture, industry and civil engineering; very lightweight and highly flexible, small coil diameter. ID 38–407 mm, up to 5 bar, −10…+60 °C.

Fuel, cement and grain

• DELOIL 15 LF — for fuels and oils. Fuels and petroleum products with up to 50 % aromatics: NBR inner tube, cover resistant to oils and fuels, copper wire for grounding. ID 76–203 mm, 15 bar, −30…+80 °C.
• DELCEM 4 LF — for cement and dry abrasives. Concrete, sand, gravel and other dry abrasive materials: conductive inner tube, antistatic cover. ID 90–152 mm, 4 bar, −40…+70 °C.
• DELFOOD GRAIN 10 LF — for grain and dry foods. Grain, rice, sugar, flour and animal feed: white, odourless and tasteless natural rubber inner tube of food quality, antistatic cover, two copper wires for grounding; sterilisation at up to 110 °C for max. 30 min. ID 80–152 mm, 10 bar, −40…+80 °C.

Pressure and diameter

In many layflat series the working pressure depends on the diameter and is lower for the large sizes: DELFLAT, for example, is rated 25 bar at ID 20 mm and 10 bar at ID 203 mm. Check the size table on the series page. For compressed air, the working pressure of DELFLAT, DELFLAT PU, DELFLAT HD and DELFLEX AGRO 16 LF must not exceed a quarter of the burst pressure. Pressure ratings apply to the hose itself, not to an assembly with couplings.
