Chemical hoses

Resistance depends on the medium

No inner tube resists every chemical, and some series are made for one medium, such as urea solution or anhydrous ammonia. Whether a hose suits your medium depends on the chemical, its concentration and its temperature. Send us these three values, and we will confirm the series before you order.

EPDM, FKM, FEP, PTFE or UPE inner tube

• DELCHEM EPDM 10 D — delivery hose with an EPDM inner tube for chemicals, industrial water and water treatment plants. Textile reinforcement; antistatic inner tube and cover. ID 13–102 mm, 10 bar, −40…+100 °C.
• DELCHEM EPDM 16 D — delivery hose with an EPDM inner tube for aggressive chemicals. Textile reinforcement; conductive inner tube and cover, flame resistant cover. ID 19–102 mm, 16 bar (12 bar at ID 102 mm), −40…+100 °C.
• DELCHEM EPDM 16 SD — suction and delivery hose with an EPDM inner tube for aggressive chemicals. Steel helix, vacuum up to 0.9 bar; conductive inner tube, flame resistant cover. ID 19–102 mm, 16 bar (12 bar at ID 102 mm), −40…+100 °C.
• DELMULTI 10 SD, DELMULTI 20 SD, DELMULTI 30 D — multipurpose hoses with an EPDM inner tube for chemicals, hot water and sea water, −40…+120 °C. DELMULTI 10 SD (ID 13–305 mm, 10 bar) and DELMULTI 20 SD (ID 25–203 mm, 20 bar) are suction and delivery hoses with a steel helix; DELMULTI 30 D is a delivery hose with a flame resistant cover (ID 13–51 mm, 30 bar).
• DELCHEM UREA 20 D — delivery hose with an EPDM inner tube for urea solution used in diesel exhaust aftertreatment. ID 13–76 mm, 20 bar, −40…+120 °C.
• DELCHEM NH3 25 D — delivery hose with an EPDM inner tube for anhydrous ammonia, mainly in fertiliser production; antistatic inner tube and cover. ID 19–76 mm, 25 bar, −40…+120 °C.
• DELCHEM FKM 10 D, DELCHEM FKM 10 SD — hoses with an FKM inner tube for aggressive chemicals and highly concentrated acids, 10 bar, −35…+100 °C: DELCHEM FKM 10 D for delivery (ID 6–51 mm), DELCHEM FKM 10 SD for suction and delivery with a steel helix (ID 19–102 mm).
• DELCHEM FEP 16 SD, DELCHEM PTFE 16 SD — suction and delivery hoses for chemicals, hydrocarbons and food products: a white FEP inner tube (ID 13–76 mm) or an antistatic black PTFE inner tube (ID 19–50 mm). Steel helix; conductive, flame resistant cover. 16 bar, −50…+170 °C.
• DELCHEM UPE 16 SD — suction and delivery hose with a translucent UPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) inner tube for chemicals, oils and fuels. Steel helix, vacuum up to 0.9 bar; conductive, flame resistant cover. ID 19–102 mm, 16 bar (12 bar at ID 102 mm), −20…+100 °C.

EPDM, FKM, FEP, PTFE and UPE resist different groups of chemicals, so the choice of the inner tube depends on the medium. This is exactly what we check when you send us the chemical, concentration and temperature.

Static electricity

DELCHEM EPDM 10 D and DELCHEM NH3 25 D have an antistatic inner tube and cover. DELCHEM EPDM 16 SD has a conductive inner tube (R ≤ 10⁶ Ω) and an antistatic cover, DELCHEM EPDM 16 D a conductive inner tube and cover (R ≤ 10⁶ Ω). In DELCHEM UPE 16 SD and DELCHEM FEP 16 SD the inner tube is non-conductive, in DELCHEM PTFE 16 SD it is antistatic; in these three series the cover is conductive and two crossed copper wires serve for grounding. Couplings

The couplings have to resist the medium as well as the hose. Our catalogue includes Camlock couplings in stainless steel, aluminium, brass and polypropylene. We assemble chemical hoses with couplings and pressure test them: see hose crimping and assembly.
